Going to Bergen
The easiest way to travel to Bergen is via plane, via Copenhagen (SAS/Star Alliance) or Amsterdam (KLM/Skyteam). Amsterdam and Copenhagen are major international hubs with connecting flights to many destinations in the world.
As an example, there are many planes per day from Geneva via both locations, and a typical prize is from €300 to €600, depending on when the ticket is booked. The total travel time from Geneva is typically around 5 hours.
There are direct routes to/from other destinations, but these are normally not that frequent.
Bergen Airport Flesland to Bergen City center
Bergen Airport Flesland is located about 20 kilometers south of the city center of Bergen. There are two main options going downtown: (1) The tram «bybanen», and (2) Airport Express Bus.
Option (1) Bybanen leaves from the Bergen Airport frequently (4 minutes interval in rush hours) between 05:11 – 00:00 every day, and the trip takes about 40 minutes. The stop outside the conference hotel is Nonneseter, which is about 2 minute walk through the train-station to the conference hotel. The ticket costs about €4 and can be bought at the tram stops with creditcards.
Option (2) Airport Express Bus leaves from the Airport to the city center every 15 minutes, and the trip takes about 20 minutes depending on traffic. The stop closest to the hotel is Bergen Bus-station, which is about 5 minutes walk to the hotel. The ticket costs about €11 and can be bought online or when you enter the bus.
How to move around
Bergen city center is rather small, so you can reach most places by foot. If you want to explore more of the area around the city center, you can either use bus or Bybanen. Bybanen serves the southern part of Bergen, while for the other directions bus is the best alternative. Bergen Bus-station is fairly close to the hotel, and most buses leaves from here.

It is highly recommended to visit Mount Fløien or Mount Ulriken during your stay. It is possible to walk up both mountains from the city centre, but a funicular gets you easily to Mount Fløien, and a cable car can get you to Mount Ulriken.

Experience Bergen
Bergen has a lot of attraction outside the program in the conference.
